About Norval Barclay
Freight
Norval Barclay is a singer, songwriter and DJ from Edinburgh, Scotland. As well as performing solo, Norval is one half of original acoustic duo Freight with Adam Morris. Freight have recently released their debut album 'Songs From Inside' on Beatnet records. For more information please visit the official Freight website. Over the years Norval has played with many musicians who are mostly based locally in or around Edinburgh. Currently he plays regularly with Chris Agnew (Stevie Agnew Band, Dougie McLean, William Douglas & The Wheel and Burach). Chris is an award winning bass player as well as a fantastic lead guitar player and the duo can be found playing all over Scotland singing covers from some of their favourite contemporary artists. Norvali
Norvali are Norval and Ali Ferguson (Stevie Agnew Band, Ray Wilson). They played together for 6 or so years and still do occasionally. Ali is usually busy touring with former Genesis front man Ray Wilson so it is very rare to see them together these days.
Some years ago Norval also played regularly with Aaron Lawson (Fish) a fantastic acoustic guitarist from the Borders. This pairing lasted a couple of years and they played mostly in Edinburgh.
As a solo performer Norval has played again all over Scotland and can be seen regularly hosting at least one open mic night a week. Check out the gigs page for more information.
